Lana Parrilla Birthday Project

Hello everyone today is July 15th. Today might be a normal ordinary day for you , but for me and a lot of other Evil Regals its our hero and inspirations birthday. Lana Parrilla you might all recognize her for her role as Regina Mills/The Evil Queen from the ABC show Once Upon a Time. She might play an Evil Queen on Once Upon A Time but to me and many other Evil Regals she means so much more.

For Lana's birthday I asked some of her Evil Regals to answer What does Lana mean to you?, How does she inspire you, What have you learned from her?

 

 

 

 

Rylin- What inspires me about Lana is her strength and act of character. She is so funny and sweet. I've learned to laugh and value friendship and my life because I don't know which day could be my last. I am so thankful she has become a role model for so many of us. She means a lot to me and all of us. I am so grateful for her hard work and love she shows. Happy Birthday Lana Parrilla <3

Kristen - Lana gave me hope, when I feel like I have none. Lana has taught me to be grateful for what I have, and to appreciate the little things in life. She showed me that being a sensitive and caring person does not make me weak, it makes me strong. What I admire about Lana is her compassion, honesty, openness, hard work, and her love for making the world a better place for people, animals, and the environment. Meeting her last year at a convention was the best day of my life. After struggling with anxiety and depression for years, I'm working on becoming better for myself because of her. Her quote, " You are  where you need to be just take a deep breath", helps me to get through my bad days. I want to work to be the best version of myself, like she does. I'm proud to call Lana my inspiration. I love her so much and I wish her the very best always.

Melissa- Lana you are amazing you have helped me so much and I'm so so grateful the amount of love and support you have from fans who can afford to go to cons and meet you and you know them so well and I'm gonna be honest I'm jealous that's not me it kills me that I will never be able to thank you in person because I have no money because I don't work obviously mean my passion is directing and when I saw you were directing I just said I wanna be like Lana one day. Regina Mills taught me to be myself she might not always like it but she is so unapologetically herself and the fact that she always felt misunderstood and just wanted to be loved I need that I feel that and Regina has on some level made me think to myself you are not always alone its ok to lp her strength and your strength has taught me things. I can never thank you for enough for. The way you always care about all your fans I just wish I could tell you how proud I am of you and I wish I could be noticed by you one day I really do never say never.

Allyce- Oh, lol there is a lot I mean she's such a amazing and strong person. She is a very selfless person. She means so very much to me. Like she is one of my role models and honestly one of the best ones I could ever look up to. I love how she loves everyone no matter what their background or what their sexuality is. I don't think there is a hateful bone in her body. I could go on and on about her. She's just a kind soul and I look up to her.

Me- Lana has meant so much to me. She has made such a big impact on my life. She gave me hope when I thought there wasn't any. I didn't know what I was capable of until I saw Lana appear on my screen back in October 2011. Right away I felt an instant connection to Lana and her character Regina. Like Regina we were both alone and misunderstood, but Lana makes me feel like I belong because of her accepting nature and her kindness. She gave me the strength I needed to follow my heart and pursue what I'm passionate in. Because of Lana I got accepted to college and working toward my goal of becoming a writer. I have Asperger's and I always felt like an outcast because of others ignorance and bullying toward me , but somehow Lana always made it ok by watching her play Regina, but I think mostly because watching how she interacts with fans. She loves all her fans no matter who they are or where they come from. Lana truly is a special human being there aren't many like her . Lana thank you so much you taught me to follow my heart and to learn to love myself. I wouldn't have become who I am today without you . You saved my life and I am forever grateful. Happy Birthday Lana!! Long live The Good Queen :)

As you can see Lana is truly loved by her fans. Lana is an exceptional human being . Her talent and compassion for others inspire many. She gives strength and hope to all those that need it. She is a true hero. We hope you have a very regal birthday Lana!!

Rebecca Mader Birthday Project

Hi everyone Today is Rebecca Mader's birthday . Bex is a favorite in the Once Upon a Time fandom. She does so much for her fans and is very generous with her time. How do you say thank you to someone as great as Bex? I decided to ask some of her fans what Bex means to them, how does she inspire you and what have you learned from her? Her fans had the following to say.

Hollie- Bex means the world to me because she is honestly so kind and loving and cares so much about everyone. She uses her platform to help and raise awareness for many different things and always takes the time out of her day to talk to all of us on Twitter. Bex has taught me to never give up and when things get hard that it will pass and you are where you need to be in life. She is adorable  from her laugh to the way she lights up a room when she walks into it . Bex is so talented and I'm so proud of her and hope she has an amazing birthday when it comes around and I hope she gets all she wishes and hopes for!! ?

Brooke- Well Bex is one of my idols and she means a lot to me and she inspires me too love myself and be kind to others.

Joelle- I love Bex because she's beautiful, funny and very honest and unique. She stays true to herself. She taught me to always be yourself. If people don't like you the way you are they don't deserve you. Zelena taught me that you should never judge a book by it's cover. Under all that green lies a story , a person, a heart. Thank you Bex  for being you ! I love you , beautiful dorky wicked cute little green bean !

Katie- Bex, my queen ! Zelena will always and forever hold the closest place in my heart. You gave me happiness in the happy times and made the sad days that little but more able to deal with. You helped me realize that no matter how much anger you have inside you and how much you want to seek revenge on those who hurt you it's not worth it. You taught me that being happy and having hope isn't just words that fairytales use. It's now words I can use in my every day life. I have just recently booked an appointment for my mental health through the strength of you, I wouldn't have been able to have the courage to speak up about past bullying, suicide and depression if it wasn't for how much you speak about not keeping it to yourself. I heard you say this quote one time " this too shall pass" that forever sticks with me, because I know that no matter what I'm going through, when I'm come out at the other end a beautiful life is waiting there for me, you gave me that hope. I also managed to embrace every inch of myself whether it comes to my wild crazy hair, my sexuality or anything else because you embrace the real you , you made me unapologetically myself. I will forever be thankful for Zelena. But most importantly I'm thankful for you because without Bex there's no Zelena. You have given me so much love and support through the years, that I just wanted to show you my appreciation. You deserve it, and so much more. Thank you for changing my life for the better, thank you for just being you because it's shown me to be who I am and be proud of it. You are my flashlight, my hero, my savior, my greatest idol. You have also given me the greatest group of friends I could have ever wished for, I've never felt so much love from a fandom in all my life. I'm so grateful. I love you.

Rylin- Dear Bex, First of all Happy Birthday... and second thank you. Thank you so much for bringing us Zelena but most importantly being you. Showing us all that we can be ourselves without feeling insecure or like we have to prove something to someone. I'm almost 15 and I feel like sometimes I have to prove myself constantly to fit in or to make others like me. But somehow you have made me feel like it's okay to be who I am and just as I come. In the past couple of months I have really realized I don't have to impress a boy or any of my friends to feel happy inside. My happiness comes from being myself. thank you Bex. You've shown us your friendships and especially with Lana you two are so inspiring and supportive of each other and I've seen it in my friendships too and it makes me so hopeful for the years to come. You've been an example to so many people with just being you. Also thank you for making me laugh. Sometimes life gets rough but I can always depend on you for some good laughs. Your hash tags are #phenomenal. Me and one of my best friends always talk about the wicked witch and we have so many inside jokes about it it's unreal ( another way we've gotten closer because of you). We always talk about spilling tea with the wicked witch and how fun it would be lol. I surprised her and bought us matching T- shirt's from your stay wicked campaign. She was so happy. You are doing such great things and your generosity for those children really shows it. Thank you for being such a light in this world and spreading love and kindness all around . Love you so much

 

Me- Bex is truly amazing. I love her character Zelena. Zelena has taught me not to be ashamed of who you are to be proud of your gifts and to be afraid to share them with the world. Bex truly has saved my life she saved my life when I thought there was no hope for me . I have Asperger's and always felt ashamed of who I am and was always told that I couldn't or shouldn't. I didn't listen and because of Bex I got on my bike and I flew . I'm now in college and got inducted into the honor society. I'm studying creative writing hoping to write books and scripts. Thank you so much Bex you have been a huge inspiration in my life. Thank you for giving us Zelena . Even after Once ends no matter what life throws at me I'll remember to Stay Wicked.

As you can see the Once fans love their wicked witch. Bex is truly loved in the Once fandom. Thank you for everything you do for your fans Bex and I hope you have a amazing wicked filled Birthday.

Rebecca Mader Fans Interview

Hello everyone today this blog post is dedicated to Rebecca Mader. Who is she you might ask?
 Most Once Upon a Time fans know her as Zelena/ Wicked Witch. I interviewed some of her fans to show how much we love and care about Bex.

1. When did you become part of #MyPretties ( Bex Fans) ?

Kendra- I started binging Once Upon a Time 4 months ago, so I would say four months.
Mikayla- October 2, 2016
Katie- When she was in Lost ( 2008).
Hollie- I first became a fan of Bex when I first watched Once Upon a Time in 2015/16.
Nicole- I first decided I was a My Pretty, , when we met Zelena in 3x12 in New York City Serenade, there was something about her I instantly loved!! She was just an unapologetic badass and I loved that!
Alyssa- Two and a half years a go
Me- That teaser in Season 3 when we saw the Stroybrooke road change to the yellow brick road. I was instantly drawn.



2. What is your favorite Zelena centric episode?

Kendra- Season 6 episode 18. This episode is my favorite because it shows the sacrifice she makes in order to save everyone. It really demonstrates the progress that Zelena has made as a person too.
Mikayla- Sisters
Katie- Sisters the episode is called.
Hollie- I love the episode called Kansas where we find out about Zelena's past with Glinda and Dorothy.
Nicole- It's Not Easy Being Green
Alyssa- Sisters in Season 5
Me- Sisters such a beautifully written episode and probably When the Bluebirds Fly because it shows how much Zelena has changed and who she has become.





3. What do you think is Zelena's biggest regret?

Kendra- Spending so much time wanting to take Regina down rather than getting to know her.
Mikayla- Bringing Hades back.
Katie- Probably fighting with her sister.
Hollie- I think Zelena doesn't regret many things because as else they wouldn't make her the person she is today and she wouldn't have her daughter. However one thing I think she may regret is falling for Hades because she nearly lost her sister and as much as Regina and her have a complicated relationship she is the only family Zelena has other than her daughter. I think she also regrets falling for Hades because her daughter has had to grow up without her dad.
Nicole- Not reconciling her envy towards Regina sooner and wasting time on seeking revenge.
Alyssa- Inadvertently killing Robin.
Me- That she had a baby just to make Regina jealous because she couldn't have her own biological children and Zelena took it a step further by having a baby with Regina's soul mate. Not that Zelena regret her daughter just the way she was conceived . I also think she truly regrets her daughter has to grow up without her father.

4. Is Zelena in your opinion a hero or a villain?

Kendra- A reformed villain that has proved her self as a hero.
Mikayla- Hero
Katie- She can be a hero and a villain, but I see her as a hero.
Hollie- In my opinion I think Zelena is both a hero and a villain. As they say evil isn't born it's made. She became wicked because she felt like nobody loved her. I think Zelena just wanted to feel accepted and wanted. She has been a Villain at times but she has also been a hero at times when she got rid of Hades. Everyone has good and bad in them even the darkest of people.
Nicole- Hero
Alyssa- She's a hero now, but only since the back half of S6
Me- I think she has been misunderstood. She had a complicated and trouble past that led her down the wrong path, but it made her the person she is and she is stronger and much wiser. She has redeemed herself becoming a hero.



5. What role would you like to see Bex play?

Kendra- Lana's bff on anything!
Mikayla- As the wicked witch in a Wizard of Oz remake.
Katie- If you mean in Once I'd be interested in her playing Belle and in another show I'd like to see her do something medical.
Hollie- I'm not exactly sure but I think Bex is such an amazing, talented actress she will be great in anything that she is in.
Nicole- I'd love to see her and Lana in a modern day Thelma and Louise lol.
Alyssa- I'd love to see her sing more since she really seemed to enjoy it and she did wonderful with it.
Me- I would like to see Bex play a mentor to a troubled teen. I would also like to see her in another fairytale show


6. Is there a show you would like to see Bex in?

Kendra- They should bring back Swingtown and have Bex play Trina Decker's new obsession!
Mikayla- 114th Doctor in Doctor Who
Katie- Grey's Anatomy
Hollie- I would love to have seen Bex in Pretty Little Liars as that's another one of my TV shows but the show finished last year. However there is a new PLL spin off and I think Bex would be amazing in it!!
Nicole- I'd love to see her and Lana in a modern day Thelma and Louise lol.
Alyssa- Grey's Anatomy and/ or One Day at a Time.
Me- Game of Thrones she would be one badass queen. I would love to watch her compete on Survivor.


7. Describe the relationship between Bex and Lana.

Kendra- Goofy, genuine, fun, True LOVE.
Mikayla- Made by God
Katie- Lana and Bex have a beautiful and unique friendship.
Hollie- I love the relationship between Bex and Lana because they are like real life sisters not just on the show. They are so beautiful and kind and the love they have for each is just so cute!! Honestly love them so much.
Nicole- Absolutely lovely, they are friendship goals.
Alyssa- Friendship goals. Like truly they are so supportive of each other and are actual sisters.
Me- None like I have seen before. They are friendship goals. Its amazing how they are sisters outside of Once.

8. What have you learned from Bex/Zelena?

Kendra- Accept yourself for who you are.
Mikayla-  To always be myself and to never give up.
Katie- I have learned that anything can be forgiven if you try hard enough to prove you can change.
Hollie- I have learned from Zelena that no matter how wicked you can be there is always a reason behind it and there is good in everyone deep down just trying to get free. Bex has taught me that you should always be yourself and to always be positive about every situation.
Nicole- The biggest things I've learned is that no matter what settle your differences with family bc there will come a time when family is all you have / there's nothing better than a sister and that " this too shall pass" so don't sweat the small stuff.
Alyssa- That life can be pretty crappy but if you stay positive and stick with your friends you can get through anything.
Me- I have learned to accept myself for I am, to embrace my talents and not be ashamed of them or who I am . Its ok to be different its what makes you wicked;)


9. If you could change anything about Zelena's past to improve her life now what would you change?

Kendra- For Cora to not have given them the memory potion to forget they were sisters.
Mikayla- Nothing bc if anything was changed she wouldn't have become the wicked witch, she wouldn't become redeemed and she wouldn't have her daughter.
Katie-  I would make sure that she grew up with Regina.
Hollie- If I could change anything about Zelena's past I would change the people who found her because she deserved so much better. I would also have had someone teach her how to do magic but not dark magic light magic. If Zelena maybe had someone she trusted and loved when she was younger and who accepted her for her maybe she wouldn't have taken the path she did.
Nicole- I think I would change her " adoptive" parents not allowing her to use magic. I think she should've been taught like Regina did from Rumple.
Alyssa- I'd change Rumple " killing " her in the end of S3 and seeing her and Regina work things out before the whole Marian fiasco
Me- I would change Cora sending Zelena back to her abusive parents.

10. If you could meet Bex now what would you say?

Kendra- I would tell her that she is a beacon of light in this dark world. Not only are you incredibly talented, but your social media presence gives me such joy  and I can always count on her to make me laugh.
Mikayla- The first time I met you it was on Twitter and I was going to end my life. You liked my tweet and I realized that I was loved. When I found you I was hopeless and I wanted to give up, but you became my inspiration. Thank you for being my hero. You loved me when I thought I was unlovable.
Katie- If I met Bex right now I'd ask her for a hug.

Hollie- If I met Bex the first thing I would do is give her a hug and probably cry but I would thank her for everything she has taught me so many amazing things and brings so much joy to me whether that's watching her on TV or reading her tweets. I'm just so proud of her .
Nicole- Oh god umm where to begin... I love you and thank you for being one of the best role models a girl could ask for... in reality if I ever met her I'd prob be speechless bc well its Bex Mader like one of the most gorgeous and inspiring actresses ever.
Alyssa- Thanks for helping me find friends in this world. Stay Wicked<3
Me- Thank you for saving my life and inspiring me to go after my dreams. I have Aspergers and never felt like I had friends but you made me feel like I belong. I know embrace my talents instead of hiding them. I wouldn't have become the person I am without you.

Happy Birthday Barbara!!

Hello everyone today is a very special blog post. Today is Barbara Hershey's Birthday!!!

 

 

You might ask yourself How do you say thank you to such an amazing woman  for all that she has done. I asked a few of her fans What about Barbara inspires you ? What have you learned from Barbara? How has she changed your life? and what better way to answer these questions then on her birthday.

Annie- What I admire the most about Barbara is her ability to tackle so many different roles and make each and every one totally different . She seems to do it so very easily, I've never seen a character she plays and didn't fully believe that this sure must be it's very own person with her own feelings, issues and beliefs. She truly manages to give each role their very own personality, even if she just has a very short part with a couple lines. I often imagine Barbara as a beautiful, blank canvas, able to pick up every form and color. Even in movies I didn't really connect to, her talent never made me regret watching it and I truly enjoyed seeing her take on so many interesting characters through years.

On top of that, I'm so very lucky to have learned that she's not just raw, passionate talent but also an incredible human being. Her Twitter account is always buzzing with energy, motivating her followers to support change in both in themselves and others. Barbara really seems to enjoy being in contact with her fans, always grateful for feedback on her roles all the while being incredibly modest and kind. I'm very thankful she decided to join us in this crazy social media rollercoaster and I always find myself looking forward to her posts.

Through the years, I often found myself being inspired by Barbara and her roles, I'm very grateful for that. Her interviews have always made me think and reflect or smile, often both. I'm incredibly proud to call myself a fan of hers and can happily say I've made friends all over the world with other fans.

Sarah- Barbara is an inspiration to me everyday. The way in which she fights for what she believes in and encourages everyone to do the same. She is courageous, smart and such a beautiful and caring soul. Barbara has such empathy for others. I have seen her take the time to make someone feel better when they are feeling low and how she talks to her fans on such a real and human level. Such a rare thing. Her whole being makes me want and try to be the best I can be. I have so much respect and love for Barbara as an actor and truly believe that nobody compares to her. Her work brings me such joy and brightens my days. I don't think any other actor can convey such truth and emotion and really makes me feel what the character is feeling. We love her so much and wish her the happiest birthday ever.



Rachael- Happy Birthday, Barbara! I am wishing you all the love, peace, and joy that your heart can stand to hold. You are deserving of all that and so much more. You are a wonderful and awe-inspiring role model for any person to have, not only as an artist, but also as a humanitarian. I am so very proud to call myself a fan and 'pseudo-student' of your work. I have gleaned so much from you over the years, and even though I have put aside my pursuit of the stage, I still find myself always captivated and learning when I am watching you work. It has been such a pleasure having a chance to get to know more of you these past few years, via Twitter, and to meet you in PA this past December. Its provided me the opportunity to see first hand that you are just as gracious, insightful, and endearing as I have always thought you to be. You never fail to brighten my day and I hope we get a chance to meet again someday soon- hopefully somewhere warmer & closer to the West Coast next time!


Tati-  Barbara learned me to be always myself no matter what and to fight for what you want. That dreams come true. She inspires me just the person she is. Her love for her fans is so amazing and so touching and gives her fans strengths and hope to believe in yourself. She is one of the persons that help me to get help so I can love myself again.

 

Kelsey- What I have always admired about Barbara is kindness and generosity . Never in my life have I met a kinder person than Barbara. She's so generous with her time when it comes to her fans. She's always willing to lend a listening ear and help others when they need it. She really takes the time to get to know her fans. What I also admire about Barbara is how she's stands up for what's right and fights for what she believes in. She inspires us all to do the same.

I learned from Barbara to stand up for what I believe in . I learned to follow my heart and pursue my passion. Barbara has always had a very good work ethic you can tell how much she loves acting. Sometimes you will have good luck and sometimes you'll have bad luck, but the important thing is that when the bad luck happens to keep moving forward and never give up. Things happen for a reason and with hard work and determination you can make your dreams become a reality.

Barbara has changed my life for the better. Two years ago I was at a real crossroads. I didn't feel like I had a purpose . I wondered if my life would be better if I didn't exist . I felt so alone until Barbara came on Twitter. She was so kind to me and she inspired me to pursue what I'm passionate in . Barbara saved my life I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for her. Because of Barbara I'm now in college in the hopes to make my dream of becoming a writer come true. I have Asperger's and never had friends or felt like I belonged, but watching Barbara in her roles and speaking with Barbara I finally felt like I belonged. Her kind and caring heart has brought light to my darkest of days. Barbara gave me strength to be myself  and not to worry about what others think.   Barbara thank you so much for saving my life . I wouldn't have become the person I am today without you Happy Birthday.

 

I think we can all agree Barbara Hershey is an amazing human being. She inspires so many with her exceptional talent. She is empathetic and accepting toward other people. She has a beautiful soul and caring spirit. I am so proud to call myself a fan.

Barbara to me is more than just an actor. She is by far the nicest person I have ever met. She is my hero, role model, inspiration and my friend
